About the bcyla

Lacrosse has been played competitively in Berkshire County since at least the 1960's when the former Lenox School for Boys fielded a team.  The Berkshire County Youth Lacrosse Association (BCYLA) has been active in Berkshire County for over 20 years, peaking in the mid 2010s when 5 county teams competed within the league.  Due to declining participation during the COVID pandemic the league contracted and formed it's own team-- the Berkshire Bucks.  Teams are offered for 4 age groups- u8 (Lightning), u10 (Bantam), u12 (Junior) and u14 (Senior).  Numbers have been rising and in 2025 116 players competed with the Bucks!

The BCYLA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is operated by a board composed of volunteer parents and coaches.  It is our goal to make lacrosse affordable and accessible to boys in Berkshire County.

The BCYLA does not currently offer programs for girls, however there are teams for girls in Pittsfield, Dalton and Williamstown.
